How the glass ranking works

Every recommendation uses repository-versioned recipe families and glass definitions. The result stays in your browser and does not call an external service.

Capacity fit

Capacity contributes 40 points. The calculation reserves service room and flags a glass below 55% of its typical minimum fill.

Temperature behavior

Temperature contributes 25 points. Stemmed and insulated shapes protect cold drinks, while hot service requires manufacturer-rated glassware.

Ice accommodation

Ice contributes 20 points. Large cubes, standard ice, and crushed ice each need a different opening and usable volume.

Rim and presentation

Presentation contributes 15 points for aromatic exposure, salted rims, carbonation, garnish, and accepted recipe serves.

Units and safety assumptions

Target volume means finished liquid before ice. One US fluid ounce equals 29.57 milliliters, and the printed ranges describe common nominal retail capacities.

Generic glass names do not prove thermal safety. A hot result accepts only a heat-rated Irish coffee glass, and the manufacturer’s instructions remain the final check.
